Vučić visiting the Zaova monastery: He lit a candle and prayed to God PHOTO
President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, started the second day of his visit to the Braničevo district today with a tour of the Zaova monastery near Mali Crnić.

He was welcomed by father Marko Pekić and his family, and Vučić was met in front of the monastery by a group of citizens with whom he lingered in conversation.
According to tradition, the original church of the Holy Archangels Michael and Gabriel was built in 1385, and the monastery was first mentioned in 1467 in Turkish records.
The present church was built by Prince Miloš in the 19th century, and the frescoes on the new church were painted in 1849 by the grandfather of the famous Serbian painter Milena Pavlović Barili, Živko Pavlović.
Currently, the monastery church serves as a parish church for three surrounding villages. Vučić will continue his visit to the Braničevo district with a tour of the "Policard" factory, and after that he will visit the village of Drmno near Požarevac, where he will visit the "Milošević" Honey House.
He will then attend the opening of the new section of the Danube Corridor at noon.
On Thursday, Vučić started a two-day visit to the Braničevo district, during which he visited the agricultural farm "Panta Klas" in the village of Žabari in the municipality of Aleksandrovac, the bakery "IP Milanović" in Petrovac on Mlava, and he spoke with citizens in Kučevo.
