Goran Vesić and Jelena Tanasković arrested over Railway Station roof collapse in Novi Sad
The Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Novi Sad announced that a total of 11 people were arrested and detained in connection with the tragedy in Novi Sad when the canopy at the Novi Sad Railway Station fell. Among them is Goran Vesić.
Let's recall that Goran Vesić resigned from the post of Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure.
In addition to Goran Vesić, Jelena Tanasković, Acting General Director of the Joint Stock Company "Railway Infrastructure of Serbia" and Anita Dimovski, Acting Assistant Minister for Railway and Intermodal Transport, were arrested due to the fall of the canopy at the Railway Station in Novi Sad.
Jelena Tanasković, the acting general director of the joint-stock company "Railway Infrastructure of Serbia", resigned from this position yesterday.
Some time before Jelena Tanasković, Tomislav Momirović also submitted his resignation.

As a reminder, the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Novi Sad announced that a total of 11 people were arrested and detained in connection with the tragedy in Novi Sad, when 15 people died and two were seriously injured during the fall of the canopy at the Novi Sad Railway Station.
"On the occasion of the tragic event that took place on November 1, 2024, in Novi Sad, when the canopy of the Railway Station building in Novi Sad collapsed, in which fifteen people lost their lives, and due to which the lives of two people are in danger from the injuries sustained, the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Novi Sad informs the public that, after collecting and detailed analysis of all necessary documentation, interviews with a large number of citizens, and after the expert examination carried out to determine the cause and circumstances under which it fell, which was submitted to the prosecutor's office on November 20, 2024, and familiarization with the findings and opinion of the expert in the construction profession, by order of the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Novi Sad, on On November 21, 2024, a total of eleven persons were arrested and detained for existence of the basis of suspicion. The suspects detained are: J.T., G.V., A.D. and N.Š. of committing the criminal offense Serious offense against general security from Article 288 paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code in connection with the criminal offense Causing general danger from Article 278 paragraph 3 in connection with paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code, and the suspects: S.N., M.J., Lj.M.M., M.S., D.J., M.G. and D.T. of committing the criminal offense Serious crime against general safety from Article 288 paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code in connection with the criminal offense Irregular and improper execution of construction works from Article 281 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code. For the mentioned criminal acts, a prison sentence of 2 to 12 years is prescribed''.
