Major arrest operation in Serbia: "Armageddon" continues VIDEO
Ministry of Internal Affairs continued the "Armageddon" operation. Four people suspected of child pornography were arrested.
As stated in the press release delivered to the media, members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Service for Combating High-Tech Crime of the Directorate for Technology, in cooperation with the Special Department for Combating High-Tech Crime of the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade and the police departments in Belgrade, Kruševac and Novi Sad, in the course of the continuation of the operation "Armageddon", they arrested M. J. (2001) from Trstenik, J. S. (1989) from Belgrade, V. M. (1961) from Novi Sad and J. A. (1990) from Sremski Karlovci, due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that they committed the criminal offense of showing, obtaining and possessing pornographic material and exploiting a minor for pornography.
"It is suspected that, for a long period of time, they downloaded, stored and shared content created by exploiting children for pornographic purposes via the Internet. During the search of the apartments used by the suspects, police officers found photos and videos created by the sexual exploitation of children in their computers", MIA points out.
Data on criminal offenses were collected through the "Cuvam te" platform.
Those data also indicated that physical meetings with the children were attempted, as well as through the platform of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) from the USA, with which successful cooperation continued.
The suspects were detained for up to 48 hours and, along with criminal charges, they will be brought to the competent prosecutor's office, the Ministry of Interior stated.
