Detention of Duško Šarić terminated
The panel of the Special Department for Organized Crime of the High Court in Belgrade canceled the house arrest of Duško Šarić, an accused member of the organized crime group of his brother Darko Šarić, due to health reasons.
The court imposed a measure prohibiting him from leaving his place of residence, that is, the territory of Belgrade, with the explanation that the court panel will not prevent anyone from receiving treatment.
Duško Šarić's defense attorney, lawyer Dalibor Katancevic, previously proposed to the court to lift his house arrest, stating that his health has worsened and that he should go to Germany for heart surgery by September.
Katancevic specified that on Friday, Duško Šarić went to the hearing in the procedure for permanent confiscation of property, when he fell ill. He submitted to the court medical documentation confirming the health condition of the accused.
Until now, Duško Šarić was under house arrest, which was ordered for him after posting bail. Duško Šarić said that he has to operate on a heart valve and that the operation is being performed in Germany, where he should first go for an examination and then schedule an operation.
Lawyer Veljko Delibašić also proposed the cancellation of the measure of leaving residence for his clients Danilo Stojanović and Milutin Radovanović, which proposal the court accepted and canceled the measure.
Earlier in the courtroom, evidence from the encrypted application "Sky" related to the placement of explosives on the car of Goran Nikolašević, as well as pictures of a man whom the prosecution claims is Stefan Andrejić, was presented.
His lawyer stated that those photos are not legal evidence because it can be seen that they were taken without the consent of the person who was photographed, which means that there are elements of illegal photography.
The next set of messages referred to the placement of the first explosive on Nikolašević's car, which did not explode, which lawyer Marko Janković commented that he sees the date of August 7, 2020 in those messages, while according to the indictment, it is related to the event that took place on August 8 that year.
Among the images exchanged by the members of this group via an encrypted application, a photo of correspondence on a social network was shown in which it was written "I'm busted, my things are in my trunk. I can't write", which, according to the prosecution, refers to Uroš Radovanović, who was arrested in Valjevo with equipment in the car, which was used in placing explosives on Nikolašević's car.
The next trial is scheduled for September 18.
In addition to Šarić and lawyer Dejan Lazarević, Bojan Stanojković, Danilo Odović, Aleksandar Bošković, Nikola Spasojević, Danilo Stojanović, Milutin Radovanović, Duško Mirković, Stefan Andrejić, Marko Vukić, Uroš Radovanović, Milan Vučinić, Arsa Šarić and Duško Šarić were among the accused.
Bojan Stanojković, Nikola Spasojević, Stefan Andrejić, Marko Vukić and Arsa Šarić are being tried in absentia because they are on the run, while Duško Šarić and Milan Vučinić surrendered to the court in January and have been in custody since then.
