New witnesses in the case of Danka Ilić: New hearings in the prosecutor's office from Wednesday

As Novosti writes, on Wednesday, April 24, a new round of questioning of witnesses will begin at the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Zaječar, who could shed additional light on the circumstances under which two-year-old Danka Ilić from Bor died on March 26 in Banjsko Polje, when she was officially hit by "fiat panda", by S.J. (50) and D.D., workers of the "Waterworks" public utility company, strangled her and threw her into a wild dump on Starobanjska road.

As confirmed by VJT Zaječar, among the witnesses is D.J., the father of the suspect S.J., who defends himself by remaining silent. The girl's body, which has been searched for since April 4, when they admitted to killing her, has not yet been found.

"So far, 14 witnesses have been heard. The questioning of witnesses will continue from Wednesday, April 24. In the interest of the investigation, we cannot say how many more witnesses will be questioned," stated VJT Zaječar.

The prosecutor's office confirms that the forensic examination of biological traces from the official vehicle used by the suspect S.J. and D.D. has been performed and that the analyzes were entrusted to the reference expert institution for DNA expertise.

So far, however, although a good part of the clues and evidence have already been reported, the reports have not yet reached Zaječar.

"The order for the exclusion of biological traces includes all the traces found in the vehicle and from the items that were in the vehicle", they confirm in VJT Zaječar, adding:

"The Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Zaječar has not yet received a single report on the biological expertise traces."

Suspects D.D. and S.J.'s custody expires on May 3, and for R.D., who defends himself by remaining silent, on May 5, and after that, a decision will be made on the possible extension of detention.
