Why won't they say where Danka's body is? Did they do something heinous?

Why killers refuse to reveal where Danka Ilić's body is? This question has been asked by the public since the moment it was discovered that the girl was killed.

There are two theories why someone would admit to killing and refuse to reveal where he hid the body, writes Blic.

Crime suspect D.D. confessed to killing the girl, and accused his brother D.D. and father R.D. that they helped him hide the body.

During this time, the other suspect S.J. remains silent and does not want to talk about his role in an unprecedented crime.

One answer to the question of why the suspects are hiding the two-year-old girl's body may lie in the fact that there is a possibility that the nature of the crime is very heinous and that the suspects fear that the discovery of the body would make it even more difficult for them in the case against them for capital murder.

"Since the beginning, we have based our attention on the suspects, there is a million more pieces of information that we have not presented yet. We cannot reach out to the passenger, to say where he moved the body from the dump. Our last version is that he did something heinous with that body", said the head of the UKP Ninoslav Cmolić last week.

Another reason why the suspects do not want to reveal the whereabouts of the body could be that they hope that somehow they can get away and save themselves life imprisonment if the girl's body is not found.

However, this cannot save them, because, as lawyer Predrag Savić explained, if Danka Ilić's body is not found, it is possible to prosecute the suspects for her murder based on the evidence collected so far.

"There are the confessions of the perpetrators, their concealers who are from the immediate family, we have a lot of other evidence regarding the origin of the traffic accident, blood on the car, asphalt... It is possible to perform a simple or 3D reconstruction of the origin of the traffic accident, from which it will be seen that was such that it could not produce fatal consequences because it was a speed of 20 kilometers per hour. Based on all that evidence, it is very likely that Danka Ilić was killed in the way that one of the defendants admitted," he said.

Savić notes that it would be good for the criminal proceedings to find the body, to perform an autopsy, to conduct a forensic medical examination and to scientifically prove the cause-and-effect relationship between injuries and death as a consequence.
