Air Serbia introduces direct flights to Shanghai

As announced by the company, flights will be operated twice a week from Belgrade on Tuesdays and Saturdays, while flights from Shanghai will be on Wednesdays and Sundays.

Flights between Belgrade and Shanghai, it is added, will also be operated during the next summer season, which begins on March 30, 2025, and tickets are already on sale.

The Serbian airline also points out that by introducing flights to Shanghai, Air Serbia provides passengers with a good connection from Eastern China, via Belgrade to Budapest, Vienna, Prague, Ljubljana, Milan, Rome, Frankfurt, Paris, Berlin, Barcelona, ​​Amsterdam, Podgorica, Copenhagen , Stockholm, Krakow, Oslo, Bologna, Venice, Zurich and other cities in its network.

"By introducing direct flights to Shanghai on January 11, 2025, with a visa-free regime and the signed Free Trade Agreement, we are contributing to the further strengthening of economic, business, tourist and cultural ties between Serbia and China. We are confident that our regular route between the capital of Serbia and Shanghai will enable faster business and tourist trips, as well as a more efficient exchange of goods and services between our two traditionally friendly countries," Air Serbia General Director Jiri Marek said earlier.

Shanghai Pudong International Airport is located about 30 kilometers east of the center of Shanghai and spreads over 40 square kilometers along the coast in East Pudong and is the main air hub of East Asia, where the airport served more than 54 million passengers in 2023 alone.

It is recalled that on September 30 last year, Air Serbia also established a regular airline route between Belgrade and Guangzhou, which was the company's second destination to China, in addition to Tianjin, to which it has been flying from December 2022.
