New prices of railway transport from September: New method of payment

For passengers, this means that, on the example of some of the most frequent lines, the price of a second-class ticket for the Regio train between Belgrade and Novi Sad, purchased through the mobile application, will cost 445 dinars, instead of the current 373 dinars.

In addition, for example, the price of a second-class ticket for the Regio train between Belgrade and Užice purchased through the mobile application, will cost 864 dinars, instead of the previous 730 dinars, from September.

A significant increase in the number of passengers also leads to the increasingly frequent occurrence of passengers entering trains without a previously purchased ticket, which they buy from the conductor, which leads to difficult capacity management, congestion, and a negative effect on passenger comfort.

Srbijavoz appeals to passengers to buy tickets online or at ticket machines and offices throughout Serbia.

New ticket machines will be installed at more than 20 stations in Serbia.

After that, for passengers who board the train without a ticket, in addition to the regular price, a fee for issuing a ticket on the train, in the amount of 500 dinars, will be charged additionally.

This fee will not apply to passengers who start their journey at a station with no ticket offices and ticket machines.

This company for railway passenger transport points out that it has been operating according to the current price list for passenger transport for three years, and that during that period there have been significant changes in market conditions, primarily the prices of energy sources and spare parts have increased, which is why the decision was made to correct the price that comes into effect on September 1 of this year.

"In addition, the novelty will be a greater discount on the online purchase of tickets, through the mobile application and the website srbijavoz.rs, in the amount of 10 percent, which is introduced to motivate passengers to buy their tickets in advance and online," it is noted in the announcement of Srbijavoz.

"We expect the effects of these changes to contribute to the continuous improvement of the quality of our services and the improvement of the user experience of passengers, and we emphasize that, even after these price corrections, rail transportation remains significantly more favorable than road transportation," the announcement states.
