Vučić: In seven days, the EU will declare "Jadar" as its strategic project outside the EU
President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, said in Brussels that the European Commission today announced projects that only concern the European Union, and that is why Jadar is not on that list.

He added that in seven or eight days the EU will declare "Jadar" as its strategic project outside the European Union countries.
Vučić thus responded to the journalist's question to comment on the statement of the president of the SRCE party, Zdravko Ponoš, that during tonight's meeting with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and the President of the European Council, Antonio Costa, the President of Serbia "got a sour pomegranate", bearing in mind that there is no Jadar among the EU's strategic projects.
"Today they rejoiced and said, well, Vučić got a sour pomegranate, that's why Jadar is not on the list. I wouldn't want to offend anyone by saying that these people are stupid, because they are not stupid, they are just malicious and somewhat illiterate and always in a hurry. They don't know that today only projects that concern the European Union, those that are in the EU, were mentioned. In seven or eight days, you will see that the European Union will announce Jadar as its strategic project outside the EU countries," said Vučić.
The European Commission today established a list of 47 strategic projects for the provision of critical raw materials in the European Union, including a significant number of lithium initiatives, which should strengthen the European value chain of raw materials and diversify sources of supply.
The Commission granted the status of a strategic project only to projects that are implemented on the territory of the European Union. Strategic projects include 14 of the 17 strategic raw materials listed in the CRMA, including 22 lithium projects, 12 nickel projects, 10 cobalt projects, seven manganese projects and 11 graphite projects.
According to the EC, 47 new strategic projects are located in 13 member states of the European Union, specifically in Belgium, France, Italy, Germany, Spain, Estonia, the Czech Republic, Greece, Sweden, Finland, Portugal, Poland and Romania.
The aforementioned 47 strategic projects, in order to become operational, will require total investments of 22.5 billion euros.
