Haradinaj says Kosovo will get army "in March"
In a statement to RTK, quoted by Beta on Friday, Haradinaj said that starting in March at the latest, "citizens of Kosovo will be able to freely move to the Schengen zone."RTK reported that Haradinaj will discuss these issues with EU representatives during his visit to Brussels on December 18.
Beta said that this was the first time that one of the leaders of Kosovo institutions has spoken about deadlines for achieving the process of visa liberalization and the formation of the Kosovo army.
EU's preconditions for visa liberalization are "demarcation of border with Montenegro and success in the fight against corruption and organized crime."
The international community and NATO believe that the transformation of the KSF is a political issue that is under the jurisdiction of Kosovo institutions, but also that it should be preceded by amendments to the Constitution and have the consent of other communities in order to preserve the multinational composition of those forces, said the report.
Representatives of the Serb List are opposed to the formation of an army in Kosovo.
