(Nikolle, 30 April 2015 17:10), this also applies to Serbs of Kosovo too, its ethnic bigotry that makes them reject say Kosovo institutions as indeed it applies to Serbs in Serbia proper. Ask them if they prefer Croatian institutions

Let's clarify the sequence of events: most of the people you reference were born and recognize their native institutions. Were any of these people ever asked to accept, or reject, any new institution? These people have been forced to accept institutions by force, and not by choice.

And still, in elections, Kosovo citizens vote again and again for the same people who brought the country into this situation in the last 1-2 decades. But well, there are no real alternatives, they can choose between national extremists (hiding behind the term 'self-determination movement'), and two parties led by 'freedom fighters'/war criminals. Isa Mustafa and his party members might be the brightest lights among those shady persons ruling Kosovo politics.

"Ethnic bigotry is a poor criterion by which to judge the competency of institutions." totally agree, however, this also applies to Serbs of Kosovo too, its ethnic bigotry that makes them reject say Kosovo institutions as indeed it applies to Serbs in Serbia proper. Ask them if they prefer Croatian institutions

(Nikolle, 30 April 2015 14:11) Ask those in Kosovo whether they prefer Serbian institutions to replace these and see the result.

Therein lies the problem. Ethnic bigotry is a poor criterion by which to judge the competency of institutions. But if you are correct, then it may accurately reflect that sordid state of the institutions and their constituents.

Oh dear, lets have a got at Kosovo season upon us again. I venture, any poll in any country (barring those that are not dictatorships) would show similar results. Residents unhappy with media and institutions (!). Shock horror. Ask those in Kosovo whether they prefer Serbian institutions to replace these and see the result
