Man these guys work really hard and get very offended when Pristina fails at trying to steal even more than they already have. Go get a job that doesn't involve drug/sex slave/organ trafficking and stop trying to steal other peoples property!

Gotta love it. Jablanovic calls the Albanians who stoned Serbian Christian worshippers on Orthodox Christmas savages and these people take to the streets to protest over this by acting like...complete savages.

But by far the funniest thing from the protesting today was some guy carried a sign that said "Je Suis Trepca" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! What a moron.

The NGO "Mothers' Appeal" from Djakovica, which was among the organizers of that rally, did not take part today, saying the protests were "taking on a political and partisan dimension."

"Trepca miners and an organization of veterans of the 1998-99 war" also "distanced themselves," according to reports.

Naturally. People don't get this violent and agitated over a remark from some politician, nor do they break conventional norms of organized strikes and peaceful protests. Both Jablanovic and Trepca are convenient excuses for Self Determination to riot in the streets and once again put the blame on Serbs and Serbia.

That they're not only calling for Jablanovic's resignation but the resignation of Isa Mustafa, the immediate handover of Trepca, and the effective collapse of the present government shows how deranged these people are, but at the same time shows there's a very potent element in K-Albanian society that international officials are prone to ignore amid rosy statements of Kosovo being a "success story".

The Trepca issue is a hype and Vetevendosje has managed to scare a good amount of people and make them believe that Serbia will have any say in it. There is no question that the natural resources in Kosovo are the property of Kosovo, the confusion is on the logistics of how/when this mine will be privatized because now it is run inefficiently by the Kosovar state. There is no question that whoever manages Trepca and whoever private investor participates, taxes will be paid to the government of Kosovo.

As far as Jablanovic, he is really stupid. He thinks he can live in Kosovo, but speak the language of Serbia when he speaks about Albanians (i.e. savages, siptari, etc). This cannot happen and there will be consequences of course. He will be put into place and will have to respect the country and the government in which he is part of. The question is if a violent extremist K. is worse than a mafia boss T. or a war criminal H.? I think all of them belong more into a cell in prison than into a chair in the parliament, but ok. Amongst those glorious characters Isa Mustafa seems to be a bright light.

Oh absolutely. It's sad though that at this point we actually have to regard Mafia Boss Thaci as a more reliable partner than Loose Cannon Kurti. It also tells you something that all those anti-Serb riots that erupted at moments notice in Kosovo in the previous years has now suddenly disappeared, and what we do see is reduced to a few Self Determination goobers throwing rocks at buses of Serbs, suggesting people like Thaci have the power to hold back or unleash the masses.

And yes, Isa Mustafa is a breath of fresh air, though at this point the LDK, the party that *should* have been at the lead since 1999 is now overshadowed by that loose cannon who riles up the masses and that mafia boss the international community regards as their tool of interest.

International officials don't ignore these extremists, no, they push the other politicians not to form a government with those extremists. Why do you think Thaci is still in the coalition? Wasn't it originally planned that the 'self determination movement' (what a misleading name for violent nationalist extremists, btw) would form a government with other parties against Thaci?

Curious as to what was the term you used to describe the Serbian rioters and looters and arsonists who participated in the "peaceful protest" organized by Kostunica in 2008 in reaction to the DOI of Kosovo.
Notice a difference there were no police attempting to stop them.
I remember the funniest thing that happened was the targeting of McDonalds which was owned by a Serb, employed Serbs and fed serbs, wow you really showed the west in that one, didn't you? I think that night alone encouraged at least 10 recognitions.

In my opinion there is nothing wrong with people exercising their freedom of speech and the right to assembly. You might not agree with what they say, but they have the right to say it. It's unfortunate that it turned violent, but that is not uncommon even in most democratic societies when emotions run strong.

If it would be Serbian demonstrations the duplicitous US terrorists would be bombing us by now.
