Condemnations from the EU office of human rights was initially been supressed by Croatia’s little Nazi friends in Berlin. How could you have backed a country that clearly exhibits fascist tendencies so the Germans have tried to sweep it under the carpet in the hope that Croatia will settle” down after electing a new but non fascist government. The problem here is that the Croats saw this silence from the EU as an approval to continue and so they have.
Behind closed doors many EU members have expressed deep concern and disgust at what Croats were doing, but this silence was held together by the Germans with support from the Vatican in the hope that things would turn around. You have to remember that the Vatican still has not managed to wash itself of the accusation that they were complicit in the murders during WW2 and that all recent text written on this subject has coined the phrase Pius 12 as Hitler’s Pope.
Now this bubble has burst and we have seen this strong response from the EU watchdog of human rights – when you use the words “needs to fiercely condemn” in diplomacy then that is the equivalent to screaming at someone at the top of your voice to stop.
As I have said before it is now more than evident that Serbs living in Croatia had to take up arms against the Croats in the 1990s and that is a view now most EU members privately.
To Germany and Croatia, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Keep up the good work.

“Za dom: Spremni!” is an old Croatian chant used for hundreds of years for noble (homeland protective) purposes. During the 1 shameful year (or so) some individuals (btw who lost the war) conducted horrible crimes while using the chant.

Yes, and the Swastika is an old indian symbol, known for some centuries. Only because Hitler used this symbol you cannot use it any more now?

Sorry, people who use these symbols and chants nowadays know well what they do and what they want to express, and the audience knows it, too.

The fact you mentioned above is not an excuse: This football player is a right wing extremist, just like this Thompson singer, and the people who these people share their political opinion.

If the Croatian National football association would have some guts, they would have removed him from the national team immediately.

Nebum, the phrase "Arbeit macht frei" (work shall set you free) are innocent enough words that have been used for centuries, but we all know what the true meaning is. Every Jew person would be beyond appalled if a German soccer player were to use that phrase. Every single Serb knows exactly what "Za Dom-Spremni" means and it has the exact same meaning as the German phrase above...THE EXACT SAME MEANING. Just like any German dumb enough to utter such a phrase would know exactly what that means, so does this Croatian soccer player know exactly what context that word means. The crowd certainly knows the meaning too. It's a pathetic, shameful, disgusting display. Factor in the discrimination with the cyrillic language going on in Vukovar right now and it's a big problem.

Why are the Europeans so surprised about this? Is it because Croatia is now an EU member state and it's an embarrassment for the entire EU? It's possible because these kind of racist, Nazi chants occur frequently at Croatian sporting and even music events, such as the racist, neo-Nazi singer Marko Perković "Thompson".

though this might be an old chant, i don't know either way, it is one of aggression. it has aggresive overtures and connotations now, much like the maligned swastika is associated with violence, so is this chant. furthermore, the chant is translated as "for home" "prepare yourselves" can be interpreted as we have guests coming and clean up the mess, or war is coming and get ready. i very much doubt that the whole stadium was preparing for some grand international guests that require the whole of the nation to prepare and clean up the mess.
its not about what the sayer thinks it means, but what the listener understood it as.

I see skewed and opinionated positions of all those in favor of diverting the focus from the current ongoing crisis and corrupt government and their repetitive lies to the voters to this incident. “Za dom: Spremni!” is an old Croatian chant used for hundreds of years for noble (homeland protective) purposes. During the 1 shameful year (or so) some individuals (btw who lost the war) conducted horrible crimes while using the chant. Much like some people committed crimes against humanity under the cross. Still, the cross is not illegal to use and/or present anywhere except for those tolerant and civilized countries such as North Korea.
Despite the necessity of some diversionists to yell and scream about Nazi’s, fascism, rasism, anti-Semitic behavior and several other well known and well used stigmas, well informed people are aware of the current situation in Croatia. Croatia government are majority of extremist left wing political “elite” and communist excrements and even UDBA’s leftovers who committed atrocities across the world under the red star and communist ideology. Nowadays, while they are selling off the last remaining valuables in Croatia focusing on any subject other than the stated one is greeted with joy by them. While tax slaves are busy with talking about WWII and Joe’s “fascist” chant, nobody in their sane mind should talk about political “elite” crimes. That is why they are trying to put a “fascist” label on the chant. It is a diversion.

I don't understand, the Croatians have been doing this for decades along with their NAZI salute. Why is it a problem now? Have some EU members finally noticed that Croatia is a mini NAZI state? LOL! The blind leading the blind. Don't criticise Croatia otherwise you'll be dealing with Germany and the Vatican!
