Let us all go out and celebrate regardless of ethnicity. This is a new year and a time for the moderate majority to stand up to extremists on all sides.

Ataman interesting comment, however i personally do not believe that God created the universe, some Christians think the earth is only 6000 years old. You are correct (my opinion) that humans need these beliefs which goes back to Humans are scared of the dark. As for the business of new year well i suppose all cultures have there beliefs. The most correct application of Islam is the way it is practiced in Ravanica. But I can live with the way it is practiced in Studenica or Santiago de Compostella.

Are you aware that, according to todays laws, your great pro*het, idol and master would qualify as a children rapist with his 9 year old 'wife' as well? Great base to build a religion on it :)
The only little issue (not very important) is that the best meal to consume with medovukha is pork. No problem with that, pork and sharia laws I like do come well together, washed down with meadovukha.

It's all symbols and simplification. But sometimes if we are through tough times - we need them. What "God" does really mean is of course the force what created the universe as we know it. Is it an "intelligent" force or not - we don't know it and probably will never know. There is nothing to prove for the scientists because the universe is already out there. That the "God" is not an old daddy sitting on the top of the cloud is already proven. What serious guys in SPC or RPC are talking about is merely the set of symbols.... and celebrating January 1 (or January 13) does not contradict to any. Even celebrating Tết Nguyên Đán does not contradict ;)
But it seems some religious "leaders" are few thousand years behind the time Buddha or Jesus was born.
