Sorry, but I don't see where's your point
@Ruben
Perhaps haven't you read my comment.
If the simple fact that I name Cedomir is insulting him, as long as I don't have a positive opinion about him, says long about YOU.
I don't wish to discuss about this guy in this thread since he's really NOT the topic of this discussion.

The topic is liberty of opinion and access to the media for to express your opinion.
I was underlining the fact that even countries with a democratic reputation as Germany or France (see COE statement about freedom of press in France) repress liberty of opinion if it doesn't fit the needs of the governing elite. So this process is still alive, not only in Serbia, and being, or not a member of European Union doesn't change the problem.
My other point was journalistic ethics, conform to the Munch chart, doing reporting instead of propaganda.
That's why I've talked about B92 and Ceda.
He was not the object, but the subject!

Joachim,

You surprise me. The insults that I have read in comments published by readers in this site against Cedomir are beyond any acceptable standard. They resemble every bit with the kind of hate any dissident would receive under communism.

To you and other Ceda-haters in this forum, one either is a Serbian nationalist or a sellout to the West. Typical of the communist times. With us or against us.

You say that you have been a dissident once. I will take your word for it, but the way I see it, dissidents of a certain time can easily turn to discriminators in another era. It is not a virtue that you carry with you by default.

I think the article of Veran Matic is very good, but I question whether the auto-censure is really the case. Censorship continues to be exerted. Prison is not the only way to scare a journalist in espousing opinions suggested by lynching crowds.

Criminals will do today, what the dictatorship would have done yesterday. "Private citizens" will enforce the "public interest". The journalist is exposed to harm and enjoys no guarantees.

“Verbal delict” on B92 is sanctioned by not publishing your comment when it doesn't fit the editorial pro-European line or if it is directed against your top-champion Cedomir.
So, where, really is the big change Veran?
Isn't it directed by the money people give you you express "your" opinion?
Do you have an idea about the "freedom of speak" we had in Germany during the 7oth? The years called "the years of lead"
Never heard about it? Too busy licking your own wounds?
I'm ready to discuss with you about "liberty of expression", liberty of opinion", as the dissident German citizen I am, wherever and whenever you wish.
Hope to hear from you, dissident brother :)
