"Ask how many Serbs in Serbia would like to immigrate to the U.S. with no strings attached. That would be in the very high numbers ,Serbia would be depopulated."
Lenard

I guess you already asked them since you know the answer? You are mixing up American foreign policy with the culture/people of America. Hundreds of thousands of Serbs emigrated to America some 100 years ago. We helped to build that nation. What is so wrong to hate American politics but otherwise like the American culture/people?

By the way, if Kosovo Albs got the white Shengen it would result in a voluntary ethic clensing. Look at Albania. It has more people living outside the country than within.

Those are the two countries that suffered most from American agression. Irakies were not able to participate in the survey.

"1/ Places number 1 and 2 are always reserved for the Russians which are now called as Ukrainians and Belorussians. Strange as it is but we call them brothers while their elites call us neighbors. "

Are you sure about the Ukrainians (and now I am talking ethnic Ukrainians of Western Ukraine)? There are many in Poland, and I think that their opinion of Russia places them in the top 1 or 2, except not of the countries they like the most, rather those they hate the most. They would never consider Ukraine as a part of Russia, except for maybe the Crimea, which is Russian, and one or two oblasts in the East.

I find it hard to believe an insignificant poll like this can make the news. The data and source of data does not even make sense. What were the questions "Do you dislike the United States of America?" and "Do you like Russia?".

Of course, there is a huge difference between American foreign policy and the American culture/people. I spent almost 6 years in America and must say that I have never met such nice and helpfull people. However, American politics are of the worst kind. I lived in Fresno, CA, when NATO bombed Serbia and was shocked over the anti-Serb propaganda in American media. After the war there wasn't even one story about how Albanians were burning churches and killing Serbs. Why? Because Serbs had been the bad guys and it wouldn't look good if, all of the sudden, people found out that the Albanians they helped were now commiting mass killings and burning churches to the ground. What CNN did show was when US soilders helped a Serb man get his cows back from an Albanian neighbour. This was not what I expected from the "cradle of democracy." After this I learned that this, so called, democracy could not be trusted. I still think highly of Americans as a people but I truly hate how American politicians use the rest of the world as some playground just to score points for the domestic audience.

“According to the same poll, Serbia had the fifth highest opinion of Russia.”

I believe this poll result needs some comments :

1/ Places number 1 and 2 are always reserved for the Russians which are now called as Ukrainians and Belorussians. Strange as it is but we call them brothers while their elites call us neighbors.

2/ So Serbians have 3-rd highest place which is a very big success if you mention that Serbia has never been a part of Russia + that you have a President called Boris but not Tomislav + that Serbia is the only state in the list which even have no state borders with Russia !

3/ We have a lot in common history , mentality , religion ect but there are things that make big difference too. One of such things is that our borders are 60 000 kilometers long where we have a big choice of friends and enemies. So Serbian number 3 is a great success in Eurasian Cup Final !

4/ Outside Europe most of the existing states are either friendly or rather loyal to Russia. So Serbian number 3 is a really great thing and you must not be disappointed if in Serbian ratings Russia has a higher place.

Those are results of the Great Brain Washing Machine and they can impose any point of view required. They have grown up the Talibans which for 99% are composed of Pashtoons living both in Afghanistan and Pakistan and then they organized their Ground Zero to have reasons to invade Asia.

They also destroyed prospering Yugoslavia and occupied part of Serbia and finally they demonized the Serbs in the eyes of the silly folks. Thanks to Pashtoons and Serbs Russia has been replaced from the pedestal of the bad guys.

There's a Pashtoon saying "A camel was accused that his neck is twisted and he responded as WHICH PART OF ME IS STRAIGHT ?" ("Ukh ta vail che gara di caga da ua di vail che KUM DZAI MI SAM DYI ?") The long and the short of it is that there's no sence taking under critics a part anything being wrong as a whole. So there's no sence talking about the USA and the idiotic ratings they publish.

Amen to that. Obama's got his work 'cut out for him' to wind back all the damage that's been done to the US's image - especially during 'the bush years'.

Has made a start, but has a hell-of-a-lot yet to do.

Good luck on that Obama.

I wonder: how would the world view Serbia if a politician such as Milosevic or Seselj had the power of a US president? What would Sloba have done in the face of the all the Big Business lobbyists hounding US politicians? Would Sloba have said "no" to the invasion of Iraq? Would Sloba have heavily regulated the US banking industry? Anyway, let's hope that Obama can lead the badly broken US with talent that Bush never had.

So most of us have a negative opinion about the U.S. (me too) but we have no negative opinion about you as an U.S.- citizan. The negative opinion is based on very negative experiance in the past (and in the present). Because there is obviously no negative experiance with you, we try to be very nice to you. :)

Adam Said: "Hopefully one day soon they will experience all the pain they've caused."

They did experience the pain, in New York "911". Over 2500 dead, just as many injured!

And the loss of over 5000 Soliders in Iraq and Afganstan, not to mention the over 50,000 soliders injured, many seriously.

And all for what!? Thank God for them that they have Obama in office now!

I wonder who actually conducts these surveys and who they speak to? What are the questions? When I travel to Belgrade with a US passport people could not be nicer to me. I have never experienced a negative attitude based on where I came from while in Serbia. I can think of many parts of the world where I would not be welcome but Serbia is not one of them. Let's stop contributing to this negative, anti-US attitude in the media because it simply does not exist. People may disagree with US policies but I do not think they view all of America as anti-Serbian.

"Among countries in the region, Serbia had by far the poorest opinion of the U.S., significantly in front of Bosnia-Herzegovina, where 30 percent of those polled had a negative view of America. "

I wonder, what is the break-up in BiH between the entity. For me it looks like "Srpska" if we would regard it as a country separately would even top Serbia.

My personal experience driving cars with USA license plates and using USA passport is completely different. True, there is a large Russian license frame holder (always removed if going to South Kosovo!) and the US passport has a magic phrase inside...

Once near Maglic MUP was busy to find accommodation for me, they called Studenica hotel and asked the availability. They refused to accept money from me to cover their phone call.
