Dodik is just playing the dirty game of nationalism: if Kosovo, as predicted, declares independence, Srpska will declare “independence” and join Serbia.

But this plan will fail, because ther is no Serbian troops in Kosovo or R.S. So the Western powers, in fact, can do what they want.

And the question of ethicities in Kosovo is quite differente from Bosnia: in Kosovo we have the majority of Kosovar-Albanians eho speak the Albanian language, a language completely differente from Serbian, and the Serbians who speak the Serbian, also defined Serbo-Croatian, language. In Bosnia, the basic difference between a “Bosniak”, a “Bosnian Croat” and a “Bosnian Serb” is just religion. All the rest is partically the same: the same language, the same clothes, the same food, and in many cases, the same music. So the problem of Bosnia is not about “different nations” or “different ethnicities”, but religious fundamentalism, supremacism and hatred.
To make RS join Serbia is to reward the perpetrators of the Srebrenica Massacre and the actions of Milosevic and Arkan.

You people just don't get it! Bosnia can only survive by carving that pittiful landscape 3 ways. It is as simple as that. The 3 main groups that live there will never get along why can't the world see this. Serbs to the north, muslims in the centre, croats to the south-easy.

Ratko,

dont be so rash to blame Lajcak as a Slovak Diplomat he is helping highlight the inconsistancy of the US policy towards Serbia and the US's attempts at dismembering the Republic of Serbia but in so doing creating the very destruction of Dayton created Bosnia & Hercegovina on the same grounds of such precednts as the US would want to enforce on the EU and the world. I think the unneccesary tension that has been created recently in BiH will just make others within the EU all the more likely to question US motives and policy aswell as understand the inevitable and predictable consequences of such an abrupt precedent that the US would wish to enforce and garne EU support for.

I say well done to the Slovaks in helping the Serbian nation.

NBL, we Serbs would rather live in Bosnia in a divided and ineffecient and poor condition than to be dominated by the muslims. Sorry, but we really do not benefit from any reforms. If you want reforms, let R.S. break off just like BiH broke off.

Ratko, Atleast Lajcak earned his money legally. Dodik has just bought a 5,000,000 euro villa in dedinje (he claims he sold 5 apartments) in Belgrade. Where did he get this amount of money? Why doesn't he invest in Bosnia? It was later revealed that these apartments were rewarded to him during the Milosevic era.. Do you consider this an example of a precedent for which Bosnia should strive for? This all happening while preaching the same old tune to the Bosnian people. I say bring on reform..out with the corruption.

"let's get off this ethnic line thing and work on bosnia going into the eu" bb?
Well, we were off the ethnic line before and the country was called Yugoslavia. But ethnic line and " dark ages" was supported, insted of working to get Yugoslavia into EU.
I'm sure that you would say same thing to Albanians in Kosovo. To get off the ethnic line thing and work to bring Serbia into Eu.

Bravo G. Dodik. The west keeps poking its nose into BiH. RS has a rising economy and Lajcak and CO. want to bring it down. Lajcak enjoys a salary of 50,000 a month for doing what? There is no need for these people to be here any more. When they run out of problems they just create new ones so they can enjoy their lavish lifestyles.

RS needs to separate from the rest of BiH ASAP!

Good let them resign and put some people in office who want to bring bosnia out of the dark ages . put people in office who want a real change for bosnia instead of money in there pockets. lets get off this ethnic line thing and work on bosnia going into the eu. Lets make a better life for all instead of for the powerful

This is only one-side view of the political crise that is going on in Bosnia. Mister Dodik has been the oppostition once to the nationalistic propaganda and wone the elections against hard line party SDS once. However, later he and his party overtook their nationalistic arguments. The threats that he will organize referendum to exclude RS from BiH was just one of it. The media in RS are totally under his control and this can be easily checked by the reports of NGO's like Transparency international and many other local organization. They speak about the real reasons of economic nature, selling the public companies for nothing, etc.etc. Dodik refuses also to change the status quo of current BOsnia
which is clearly divided by the ethnic lines,eg. the way how the presidency is elected, Council of ministries...Those are the examples where the ethnic and territorial principle in selecting the representatives for the State and also the bodies on the Entity level. All of those whoe feel as "others" are excluded from the political life in BiH. This is not real base for modern and civil state.
Thank you

Bravo Mr. Dodik! Challenge is what the International Community needs in BiH. Certain countries and their representatives have for too long time avoided real measures to create the democracy in BiH. The Dayton accord was made by many naive officials. Some of them still do not realize that BiH needs a European democracy and not democracy based on US assumptions. Mr. Dodik is thea man of the West - Who was it that approved him as the man the West could deal with? Come forward and support him in his fightings against the attempts to deprive democratic elected politicians their democratic rights - read demonstrate their dissatisfaction by staying away. Let the politicians in BiH agree on the future of BiH. If they cannot agree - so be it. Tvelve years after Dayton, the international community still believe they can dictate democracy. Today you even have high level officials running round in BiH threatening the right of the BiH citizens. Pull these officials away from Europe and back to their own chaos.
