This ‘conquest’ was supposed to take a few days. Putin miscalculated, and now continues to cause the unnecessary slaughter of Russian men because he does not to simply admit mistakes and back off.

There is scope for a negotiated end to this. Both sides should compromise. Ukraine by being recognised as being independent but agreeing to not join NATO or EU for a good number of years, and Russia by agreeing to a shared protectorate status for the Ukrainian territories it currently occupies.

This isn’t just about Russia and Ukraine. There needs to be respect given to the international legal order, and Russia has gone against that order despite being signed up to it. I don’t like to see Russia being a pariah and want to see a respected Russia exercising its proper position in a peaceful world.

What Ukrainians should do is stop fighting a losing war.

Actually, the Russians are working within international law and that’s why they call it a special military operation. It’s the US that wants to impose its world-based world order which means the US sets the rules and everyone has to do what they are told. However, the US can ignore, bend or change those rules to suit themselves but you can’t. Its do as I say not as I do.
Russia is not a pariah since 80% of the world does not see it that way. Its only the west which is 35 countries.
Russia is de-militarising Ukraine and NATO. The reality on the ground is Ukraine has already lost the war only the US wants Kiev to keep fighting. To understand what has happened to Ukraine you only have to look at the average age of their soldiers. I think its 43 making their troops well into their 50s.

Russia is a pariah - and Putin is wanted by the international court for his war crimes.

You might like to keep exposing your fixations on this site, but how ever much you may want Putin’s war to be successful, it is actually a dirty little mess created by a man who has stolen his country by destroying any opportunity for Russians to have a proper opposition from which to properly democratically elect its politicians. Today the only settlement the Russian will accept is capitulation and that does not go down well with the neocons in Washington who are willing to fight to the last Ukrainian. Lyndsey Graham has said it many times in that its the best money spent since no Americans are getting killed.
The Russian are demilitarizing both Ukraine and NATO - the west is running out of everything.
To give you an example of how far the US power has fallen. In the past this session of the UNSC on Kosovo would have been cancelled, postponed or held behind closed doors. Today the US has LOST control and countries ignore them. This year will be even more earth shattering for the US as the new financial system is put into place and the global south abandons the US dollar. Serbia has been offered membership of BRICKS supported by Russia and China.

For those not keeping score, Russia has lost 20 warships out of fifty, their other warships would havealso been lost if they had been in the Black Sea and not elsewhere.

I remember you that around 12 million Ukrainians were forced to leave their home, land, everything they had by Russian army! Around 6 of them are distributed around Europe and other 6 in other places in Ukraine.

If they surrender and accept Russian terms, no one of them will ever return home.
Is Russia that should leave! And soon or latter Russians will get out like in Afganistan. Ukrainians should resist!

Actually, the Russians are working within international law and that’s why they call it a special military operation.
