In 1995 during "Operation Storm" when 230,000 Serbs were "cleansed" from Croatia the last 5 relatives of my name were too old and too sick to flee...I was notified a month later by the Red Cross they were found with their throats slit. Read the evidence in my book of the 87 survivors and testimonies of those who knew and they will discover that in WWII 1.4 million Serbs were killed, over 600,000 at Jasenovac along with 60,000 Jews and 35,000 Roma...allowing any government. Don't allow the Ustasha regime to rewrite history...and for the record 970 Croatian Catholic priests who murdered Serbs,Jews and Gypsies with their own hand, fled to Argentina through the "Vatican Ratline" to escape justice. Dozens of the histories of these priests are in my book...Croatians can run but they can't hid their hideous WWII crimes.
When all else fails, just publish a few articles about "holy Kosovo" or the crimes that those horrible neighbors committed against those "poor innocent Serbian creatures". That will surely unite the Serbs behind a nationalist dictator.

One thing I know is that the Germans did not give a hoot where Jews were killed as long as they were killed so they wasted very little in transporting them. It was only the skilled they bothered with.

I think everyone can understand Cetniks, to the extent that they defended local communities. My grandfather's brother died in World War II as a Chetnik rebel. Again, to the extent that they fought for the common person, we can all understand that. But that's not the entire story. And it certainly isn't what happened in the 90s. Ultra-nationalists went to war because of where the borders were drawn. If Serbs can accept Australia's borders, why the big fuss where the border is drawn between Serbia and Croatia? We all know what happened when nationalists on all sides started with creating fear of the other group, with arguments from a war that was more than a generation ago. It started a chain that ended up again in the death of thousands.

Yes because if it happens only in one place, and the victims are a fraction of the people captured that could have been killed but women and young children were allowed to leave, it's called mass murder and a war crime. Not genocide.

Unfortunately the current Croatian Leader Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović continues to support Croatian holocaust revisionism who have lowered the figures down to 40 thousand while destroying much of the Jaseonovac memorial and evidence during the Yugoslav civil war. The Holocaust that occurred in Yugoslavia even shook to the core German and Italian Officers, nothing but pure evil and can only be described as blood thirsty. Too bad the Croatian populace still have not come to terms with the complicity of the crimes committed under the Croatian name.

I think everyone can understand Cetniks, to the extent that they defended local communities. My grandfather's brother died in World War II as a Chetnik rebel. Again, to the extent that they fought for the common person, we can all understand that. But that's not the entire story. And it certainly isn't what happened in the 90s. Ultra-nationalists went to war because of where the borders were drawn. If Serbs can accept Australia's borders, why the big fuss where the border is drawn between Serbia and Croatia? Out of this, there are 9-10 000 survivors, according to some 12 000, up to 8 000 emigrated to Israel after the war on "Yugoslav government persuasion". Of those that didn't survive not all ended in Jasenovac, but in Auschwitz and other camps (Jasenovac took from 13 000 to 17 000). How on earth this person came to 40 000 Jews in Jasenoac, not mentioning other, is something he will have to explain to academic community and peer reviewed journals. Because this is absurd.

I think everyone can understand Cetniks, to the extent that they defended local communities. My grandfather's brother died in World War II as a Chetnik rebel. Again, to the extent that they fought for the common person, we can all understand that. But that's not the entire story. And it certainly isn't what happened in the 90s. Ultra-nationalists went to war because of where the borders were drawn. If Serbs can accept Australia's borders, why the big fuss where the border is drawn between Serbia and Croatia? William Dorich, I was very moved by your post here. I'm so sorry to read the tragic and barbaric way your relatives were treated. But thanks for sharind, and I will search for your work to read in detail.
It amazes me how modern day Croatia has got away with it. Its a shame on Europe and the EU. Further still Croatian politicians, historians and huge chunks of their society seem proud of their dark history.
Shocking how they are denying and watering down what happened in the 1940s and 1995.
Ustashi nazism appears to be alive and kicking in modern day Croatia. And that is shocking and nothing short of a digrace.
