What is sad is Albania and Serbia both consider Austria as a prime ally. An ally that seems to want the destruction of both countries. As for Kosovo, Montenegro and Macedonia it is unlikely they would host them. For one Kosovo and Montenegro are tiny and Macedonia is in the middle of transitions to do it.

It is very interesting how Kurz was such a multi-culturalist who came to Belgrade, Tirana, Prishtina, Skopje etc a lot to preach forced reconciliation, European values blah blah yet he is now the poster boy of Far Right German politics. He is clearly going to become a huge burden for the Balkans, yet our politicians consider him "a great friend."

Austria and the entire EU started this problem. Now that populism and nationalism is making a rightful return they [well established politicians] are scrambling to save their political futures. It makes no sense why Kurz the Big Eared Right Winger would be against North Africa camps, in the region where most of these people come from, but not against a Balkan camp.

Someone from the Balkans, if not all, will agree to this. The corrupt politicians will be given plenty of cash, whilst the people will be fooled with EU talks promises.

If all this does happen, you can be sure most of these incumbent Balkan governments would be on the way out, and locals will eventually react - badly.

I sincerely hope the people of Serbia wake up and start demanding that no more of these people are allowed into their country without thorough checks to determine if they are really refugees. If they have no papers then they should be accommodated in a refugee camp where they will be safe and cared for. Too many of these people are coming in with no identification but all seem to have had time to get dressed in the latest designer clothes and grab their mobile phones and selfie sticks. When they reach Europe they are all smiles and posing for the camera .... not one of them has appeared anything close to being traumatised.

I know that it will not be Serbia. You see Austria would be very foolish to try and push them onto Serbia for two reasons. First Vienna is the second largest Serb city outside Belgrade and its Serbs votes that put the current government in power.
Second Serbia hosts a lot of refugees from Kosovo and Croatia. In fact, the refugees from Kosovo are not just Serbs and if you think that Belgrade will sit back and accept Middle eastern refugees while Croatia does nothing then your deluded.
Vucic is not Thaci or Haradjin and that is your problem. Both Haradjin and Thaci would phone in their sale of Albos in Kosovo, Vucic is not like that otherwise the recognition of Kosovo would have taken place a long time ago.

What is sad is Albania and Serbia both consider Austria as a prime ally. An ally that seems to want the destruction of both countries. As for Kosovo, Montenegro and Macedonia it is unlikely they would host them. For one Kosovo and Montenegro are tiny and Macedonia is in the middle of transitions to do it.

It is very interesting how Kurz was such a multi-culturalist who came to Belgrade, Tirana, Prishtina, Skopje etc a lot to preach forced reconciliation, European values blah blah yet he is now the poster boy of Far Right German politics. He is clearly going to become a huge burden for the Balkans, yet our politicians consider him "a great friend."

Austria and the entire EU started this problem. Now that populism and nationalism is making a rightful return they [well established politicians] are scrambling to save their political futures. These countries welcomed them, these countries bombed their countries, these countries should FIX the issue.

It makes no sense why Kurz the Big Eared Right Winger would be against North Africa camps, in the region where most of these people come from, but not against a Balkan camp.

Someone from the Balkans, if not all, will agree to this. The corrupt politicians will be given plenty of cash, whilst the people will be fooled with EU talks promises.

If all this does happen, you can be sure most of these incumbent Balkan governments would be on the way out, and locals will eventually react - badly.

These talks do not involve Serbia at all. Vucic was asked earlier if Serbia was interested but he replied no since there are enough refugees in Serbia already. My guess is BiH (not Republica Srpska) or Albania.

What makes you exempt from these talks, you’re not some major regional European power who stand up to the EU like Russia or the UK. Vucic would sell you out faster than you can blink. Don’t be delusional, be vigilant the EU knows it messed up and now they want to shift the problem on to some one else. Where ever this camp is built in the Balkans I can guarantee you it will affect the whole region.

Adrian, but how are we, balkan-trash, supposed to feel a bit superior ? We have centuries of being opressed and used. First from western europe, then from Ottomans, then from USSR, now back to serving in western Europe. Finally we have a bird in our hands to feel a bit racist over... to feel a bit “european”... since most of our lives we’ve felt like gypsies of Europe. You can’t take our chance at feeling good about ourselves, FOR ONCE. We think that if we “clean up” Europe from these migrants, all will be good. How quick we forget that we are Balkan - muslim and orthodox trash (only in name, and at times too backwards), to Europe.
