Serb Radical Party MP Srboljub Zivanovic physically attacked (SNS) counterpart Igor Becic in parliament this afternoon, causing proceedings to be adjourned. Serb Progressive Party (SNS) leader Tomislav Nikolic and Becic, who had a bloody nose, entered the parliamentary chamber at around 16:00 CET, and told journalists that Zivanovic had hit him. Fisticuffs in parliament between SRS, SNS Earlier, the Serb Progressive Party (SNS) called for a meeting of the Parliamentary Administrative Committee to decide whether the party’s mandates should be revoked. “Let them take any kind of decision they like, in accordance with the Constitution and law. But, on the basis of the highest legal acts of our country, only one decision is possible—leave the mandates with the MPs, they don’t belong to parties,” said SNS deputy leader Aleksandar Vucic. The Serb Radical Party (SRS) also wants the Committee to convene, claiming that the mandates in the possession of SNS officials rightfully belong to them. The SRS’s insistence on the issue, citing the SNS’s conduct as being in breach of the Code of Procedure, has led to parliament being blocked on a number of occasions. MPs were once again unable to broach the agenda today, the first item of which are changes to the Code itself, with opposition MPs continuing to cite violations of the Code of Procedure for the third day running.
