Fifteen suspects assumed to be part of Darko Saric’s drug gang have been arrested in Slovenia, according to reports. The arrests are a continuation of an international police operation dubbed Balkan Warrior, in which 2.5 tons of cocaine smuggled in from South America were seized last year. Op Balkan Warrior nets gangsters in Slovenia The suspected crime boss Saric is a Montenegrin who was granted Serbian citizenship, and lived in Montenegro and owned a large amount of property and businesses in Serbia. Saric is currently at large, and has a Serbian arrest warrant issued against him. The latest arrests came as a result of cooperation between the Serbian Prosecution for Organized Crime and the Slovenian High Prosecution and its organized crime sector, said reports. Evidence was gathered from the American DEA, the Serbian Security Information Agency (BIA), and the Slovenian intelligence services. Money, drugs and weapons were found in the homes of the arrested suspected, reports from Ljubljana said, without identifying those detained by police.
