Custody extended for suspect in Pukanić case

The special sector of the Serbian Supreme Court has extended the custody period for another two months for Milenko Kuzmanović, suspected of murder.

The special sector of the Serbian Supreme Court has extended the custody period for another two months for Milenko Kuzmanovic, suspected of murder. “Custody will be extended because if the suspect were to be freed, he could potentially influence Bojan Gudaric, who is on the run in Croatia and is suspected of being one of the direct murderers of Ivo Pukanic and Nikola Franic,” the statement from the court reads. Custody extended for suspect in Pukanic case The decision for the extension of custody was passed on the proposal of the Belgrade District Court judge, and will be in power until October 30, 2009. The court statement adds that custody will be extended because there is also a danger of the suspect fleeing if released. “Kuzmanovic is being investigated based on suspicions that he was involved in criminal enterprise and murder, working within an organized criminal group which was led by suspect Sreten Jocic,” the statement concludes. Journalist and publisher Pukanic and marketing head Niko Franjic were killed late on October 23 when a bomb exploded in the courtyard of the Nacional editorial office.

Custody extended for suspect in Pukanić case
