Croatian police are offering rewards for information leading to the arrests of those suspected of murdering weekly Nacional owner Ivo Pukanic. The reward applies to the entire region, and is worth EUR 13,500 for any piece of information that could lead to the arrests of Zeljko Milovanovic and Bojan Guduric, the chief suspects in the murder of Pukanic and his marketing director Niko Franic. Reward issued in hunt for journo assassins An arrest warrant for the two suspects, suspected of being the triggermen, was issued late last year. Milovanovic, a former member of Milorad Ulemek’s disbanded Special Operations Unit, is believed to have planted a bomb on a scooter and parked it in the weekly’s car park next to Pukanic’s car. He is also wanted by the Croatian authorities for war crimes allegedly committed against civilians in 1991. Guduric is suspected of having activated the bomb that killed the weekly’s owner. Police believe that Milovanovic has gone to ground in Bosnia-Hercegovina, while Guduric is believed to be in Vojvodina, his old stamping ground when he used to work with local crime boss Zoran Popovic’s gang.
